Invitation to the ISyDMA'7 conference

The International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications (ISyDMA'7) will be held on December 6-8, 2022. This year's conference, as the seventh meeting in the series, is organized online by the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Adam Mickiewicz University (Faculty of Physics) in Poznań and its Foundation. We cordially invite young scientists in particular, to participate in the conference and inspiring lectures presented by recognized scientists from the international scientific community.
We highly encourage you to visit the official website of the conference.
RESEARCHERS’ NIGHT for the fifth time at IMP PAS

This year’s Researchers’ Night at our Institute will start on September 30 at 4:00 p.m.
We currently have special occasion to be happy because we will be celebrating a small jubilee – this is the fifth time when IMP PAS takes part in the event, which aims to bring the scope of scientists' activity closer to the public. We want to create an opportunity to get to know each other in an atmosphere of fun and to show how we can popularize science in interesting ways. Our scientists will prepare many attractions and surprises for you, incl. interesting experiments, workshops, and visits to research laboratories. “In the Labyrinth of Physics" we will demonstrate to our guests that, according to the thesis of the EU project HORIZON-MSCA-2022-CITIZENS-01, "The future of the Earth is possible thanks to the continuous cooperation between scientists from various fields". We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the program prepared by our employees: : https://www.ifmpan.poznan.pl/nocnaukowcow/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Folder-NN2022_last.pdf
We are overjoyed that this year we will be able to meet together in the real word and not only online as it has been during the two previous editions. The registration of participation in the events is available online at: https://www.poznan.nocnaukowcow.pl

Participation in "Future Energy Asia 2022"

On July 20-22, 2022, a delegation of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, chaired by Jacek Bogusławski who is the Board Member of the Greater Poland Voivodeship and chairman of the Hydrogen Platform in the region, took part in an information and promotion trip to Bangkok within the trade fair of "Future Energy Asia 2022" that is one of the largest events devoted to energy transformation in Asia. Our employee Dr. Łukasz Lindner was included among the honorable group of the delegates. The purpose of the trip was to promote the regional brand of "H2GreaterPoland - hydrogen direction" by presenting to foreign partners the elements of the economic promotion system, including the activities of the region's local government, as well as representatives of territorial self-government and scientific units from Greater Poland Voivodeship, which develop and promote the low-emission economy ecosystem in the region.
Achievements of scientists from the Department of Thin Films highlighted by The Advanced Photon Source
The article "Magnetic damping in ferromagnetic/heavy-metal systems: The role of interfaces and the relation to proximity-induced magnetism", co-authored by the employees of the Department of Thin Films, published in Physical Review B, was highlighted on The Advanced Photon Source (APS) website U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science User Facility. The text promoting this article will be published in "APS Highlights Books".
Final of the National Construction Competition
On Friday, June 10, 2022, the Final of the National Construction Competition took place, the aim of which was to build vehicles powered by mousetraps and driving them over a distance of 12 meters in the shortest possible time.
Over 50 teams from all over Poland applied for the competition, of which 35 teams took part, and 18 vehicles reached the finish line. The vehicles were made of a mousetrap (each team had the same mousetraps) and of ... Imagination!
The competition was full of excitement as each team had the ability to release the same vehicle 3 times. In between races, there was an opportunity to improve the designs, which was often associated with great emotions!
The essence of the competition was learning through play and observation that in the construction of even the smallest devices the laws of physics are of great importance. And that understanding these laws allows you to directly apply textbook knowledge in practice.
Our visit to the Primary School No. 1 in Poznań STO

Lecturers of "Physics Worth Poznań" on April 27 this year visited St. Urszula Ledóchowska Primary School No. 1 in Poznań. The lectures "We are changing the world for the better - how to take care of the climate and the environment", "Renewable energy sources" with the accompanying demonstrations were prepared and conducted by dr hab. Iwona Olejniczak, dr inż. Bolesław Barszcz and dr inż. Paweł Ławniczak. They enjoyed great popularity among students of the oldest classes of this School.
We invite you to watch a short photo report.
